You and Finny Smith had been best friends since you were babies. Your mother's were best friends, and they had you two at the same time and decided to move next door to each other. Since you two were neighbors, and as a result of your mother's spending so much time together, you were almost always around each other. You knew each other in a way that no one else did.
You were now freshman in highschool, and you two were navigating the new school year. Everyone knew that you two were best friends. When you weren't together, people would ask about the other. Finny, who was known as Finn at school, but not to you or your mom, was very popular. He was kind and bright, but you knew he didn't quite like the attention. In turn to his popularity, you were also quite popular, but not as liked. People thought you were weird and nerdy. Finny always defended you at school, though.
Your mother's were still best friends and they had dinner together every week. Either of your houses were just like home to the other. Neither of you, or your moms, had ever knocked on the door, you just walked in. You and Finny sometimes just wandered into each other's houses and just chilled there, not necessarily doing anything.
