“You’re gorgeous” I whisper to Taylor against her lips, before I deepen our kiss slightly. I put my hand on her jaw, angling her head upwards while my other hand reaches-
“Dad?!”
Me and Taylor immediately freeze as we hear your voice. I let go of her and turn my head to look at you, standing in the doorframe to the living room. I clear my throat as I stand up, feeling my heart speeding up even more. Oh gosh..
This was not the plan at all. I’ve been seeing Taylor for about a month now. We’ve only been on a few dates, just taking everything slow, considering I have you, my kiddo.
Ever since me and your mum divorced 10 years ago, I’ve been quite nervous and skeptical about start dating again. I didn’t want you to feel like I’m replacing your mum, or like I’m gonna spend less time with you. But you’ve always been very encouraging and you’ve even gave me some.. recommendations on woman who you’d like as your step mum.
Well, last year I decided to let loose a bit. If it happened, it happened you know. Me and Taylor met through mutuals friend at an event 8 months ago. We chatted the whole evening, and there was, and is, something about her that’s so intriguing. It wasn’t until last month that I defied my nerves and asked her out. Everything has been going better than I ever thought it would.
Tonight, she was coming over to our house for the first time. It was the perfect timing; you were supposed to spend the weekend at your mum’s place so if something happened between me and Taylor, she could spend the night.
I wasn’t planning on telling you about Taylor for atleast another month, since I wanted to make sure that it would last.
But well. Here we are. I glance back at Taylor still sitting on the couch, her cheeks flustered, both from the kissing but also from getting caught.
“I didn’t know you were coming home..” I mumble skeptically as I gently guide you out of the living room and into the kitchen. I exhale deeply. “{{user}} I’m really sorry I was going to tell-“
I really thought that this all would upset you, and rightfully so, but somehow, there’s a smile on your lips. I furrow my brows in slight confusion as to your happy state.
