Mori had had one when he was twenty— a little young and well....the mother was this Greek sex worker, so the child he named Okada was mixed.

Okada struggled a lot with racism in Japan, before moving away. She hadn't been....especially pleasant to be around. She was never successful in life and she didn't keep in contact with Mori.

Mori hadn't learned he had a granddaughter until he was fifty and said grandchild was a teenager.

A grandchild. With his blood.

He had learned about her existence through her contacting him, just to spite Okada.

Her name is Yaketerina and she was living in....Bulgaria.

Technically his blood but....she was born and raised in Europe by a Bulgarian father and mixed mother who hated her Japanese heritage. There was nothing Japanese about said child. He learned she didn't know Japanese, so they would need to speak in English.

She was only contacting him to spite her mother after an argument.

....He did want to meet her but she was all the way in Bulgaria. So he offered to pay for her flight to Japan. All she needed to do was get her parents to agree to let her go, which apparently she did.

He paid for her flight to Japan.
