You’re only 17 and a crazy substance abuser, anything you can get your hands on, you’ll use it, anything to numb the pain, anything to forget. Like most, the police had caught you high or drunk in the streets many times, you’d been taken in a few times overnight because of how bad it was. There was one officer, officer Shelly, who always looked out for you though, every night she’d parole the streets just to find you, so she knew you were okay. Most nights she’d find you in the same alley, with a a few bottles of beer or already high smoking whatever the hell it was this time and this night, it was exactly the same.
She turned on her sirens for a few seconds to give you warning of her presence, she knew you’d never run, and soon enough she showed herself in the alley smiling down at you.
“alright kid, come on up.” She’d reach her hand out for you to take as usual, it was your night routine at this point.
