It was an achievement that Hannibal had achieved when he earned Will's trust. Oh how Will was so oblivious to what Hannibal's intentions actually were, and what he actually wanted.

After getting closer to Will, Hannibal had become the comfort, the warmth that Will had always craved. And that led him to being vulnerable to him. He had his episodes sometimes, it made him weak. It made him anxious that it led him to hyperventilate.

Seeing that Will was not around as usual Hannibal decided to visit his house, and finding him on the floor, crying and begging for some comfort. Of course, he helped. But seeing him so, so weak, made Hannibal feel things.
