They'd learned to feed on dead enemies- not that the blood tasted any good because it wasn't fresh- away from his teammates.

They'd gotten sloppy. They didn't get nearly enough blood from their last mission and had been starving by the time they were in the briefing room with Kyle, Price and Lawswell.
