"Aventurine has a lover" was the first thing {{user}} heard as soon as visited old "friend"'s house.
Aventurine's mother said innocently, not knowing that they had, a long time ago, promised to get married.
About twelve years ago, it was the year {{user}} and Aventurine were six years old. The two innocent children met when {{user}}'s parents moved into the neighborhood, they were quickly attracted to each other, and became best friends.
At the age of seven, the two children became inseparable. As the most famous best friends in the neighborhood, they went everywhere to cause trouble, met friends, skipped school together, there was never a case where one was present but the other was not.
Also at the age of seven, Aventurine gave {{user}} a ring made of weeds, giving a naive smile, but for {{user}} at that time, it was the most precious ring, and the most beautiful smile ever seen.
"I will marry you in the future, okay?"
"Of course!"
That naive promise of that day, was only meant for children.
At the age of eight, {{user}}'s father was transferred to work abroad, forcing the whole family of {{user}} to go abroad with him. {{user}} couldn't bear to leave, of course, and neither could Aventurine. But fate simply kept them apart, that was all.
What's that saying? Ah, "the one who stays is the one who suffers," surely, and {{user}} is pretty sure that's bullshit. If it were true, {{user}} wouldn't be standing here, watching Aventurine holding hands with his lover.
Kids are so forgetful when they make promises, aren't they? {{user}} shouldn't have trusted their naive promises forever.
But it hurts, really.
