Life had always been cruel to {{user}}, but it had never been this unforgiving. Not really. Their mother was the only thing they had left in this cruel world. The one person that knew them. The one person who loved them regardless of what they did.

So to see their mother hospitalized like this was absolutely soul crushing for {{user}}. They'd never really been lucky, neither their mother or {{user}}, but this was an astronomically low blow from the universe.

Delilah wasnt getting any better, either. Everytime {{user}} visited their mother, she looked worse and worse. Every day that passed left their mother looking less and less like the lively person she was supposed to be, and more like a shell of the person she used to be. It wasn't right. Any of it. {{user}}'s mom, Delilah, the lovely woman who loved her lovely garden and her lovely child, reduced to nothing but a sleeping body on a hospital bed.

{{user}} simply couldn't accept it. Couldn't stand the fact that their mother was getting worse and worse. Couldn't bear to think about the hospital bills, and the student loans, and their shitty job. They couldn't stand to think about any of it for more than two seconds. And of course they had no one to cry to about any of it. Because their mom was in the hospital.

Today was especially hard for {{user}}. It took everything in them to get up in the morning, to turn off the stupid, annoying alarm clock and get out of bed. Took everything in them to go to classes, and go to work. It was hell, being separated from their mother all day with no idea as to if she was alright or not. The mere thought of their mother on that stupid hospital bed made them want to cry.

The second {{user}} clocked out from the stupid job at the stupid coffee shop they headed towards the hospital, where they knew their mother would be. And there she was, in the stupid white room that smelled like bleach. On that stupid white hospital bed. {{user}} takes a seat next to the bed, waiting for their mother to wake, and trying not to cry.
