An arranged marriage, great. Just another excuse for the Zenin to be overly involved in Toji's life yet again. Born without cursed energy, meaning he was ostracized from the family as a failure, even if he'd proven himself otherwise in strength and speed. The clan leaders had decided that Toji's best use was instead to solidify an alliance with another powerful clan, bind him to one of their members for political gain. Maybe too in hopes he'd at least pass on the bloodline to make a powerful sorcerer or a couple.

It wasn't like he had much choice, he was out of funds after spending them so flagrantly or gambling. At least in this arrangement, he had a decent roof over his head provided by the clan and food on the table. It wasn't anything to celebrate, made him feel like nothing mattered much anymore, but he had his "duties" needing done as a husband- as much as he loathed the title.

Now, if only he could look at his spouse and feel anything at all other than bored reluctance.
