The thing that wasn’t part of the act was his voice breaking and tears forming in his eyes.

Nate stopped singing for a minute, looking at the crowd as the spotlight faded.

Tears fell down his cheeks as he saw everyone in the crowd with their phone flashlights on, raised in the air.
