university. it mainly just felt like a minefield full of stress and anxiety. every day felt like a new adventure, a learning curve. in the worst way possible. especially since you’re studying at a university halfway across the country from your hometown.

every aspect of your life was new, nothing was constant.

the one constant you had was in your psychology lecture. the boy sat beside you, he was there every lecture, never missed a day. he also was some sort of genius, he didn’t tell you, but it was self explanatory after one and only conversation you had.

“you likin’ psychology?” you asked.

“I find it fascinating, plus I wanted to.” the boy answered. “This will be my second BA. With my 3 PhDs.”

that made you pause. “how old are you?”

“I’ll be 24 soon.”

“okay…” and that was it. you’re one conversation, and you never had another.

until you professor created an assignment, one in which you needed a partner. people grouped up fast, leaving you alone until you could group up with spencer.

“we should meet at the library.” spencer stated, and so you made the plan. 5:00pm, you’ll hang out with this boy genius, and hopefully get an easy A
