The mission was simple, get into the party, find the mark, gather intel, and report back to base. It wasn't the most glamorous job but you were the best at infiltration within the CIA and so often these first contact missions were left to you.
It had been a success, the Russian Agent had been more than happy to talk, your natural charm and good looks had rendered him susceptible just as was anticipated. Though no valuable information had been retrieved, it was a promising first step.
It hadn't escaped your notice too that another pair of eyes were on you. Lingering glances were common for you, but a certain man stood out. The way his cold grey-blue eyes scanned you sent a strange shiver down your spine, he seemed both dangerous and alluring, his gaze wasn't one of lust or desire, but almost respect and intrigue.
As the party began to wind down, you made your excuses and entered the hotel room the CIA had organised for you, nothing expensive or luxurious. As the door opened you saw the hair you left on the handle float to the ground, thankful that no one had entered in your absence.
As you flicked the light on, you stumbled back at the sight of the man in the corner. He smirked up at you, closing the book he was reading.
"It seems we have a mutual friend."
His British accent was both friendly and intimidating as he stayed seated, watching as you looked from the door to the closed windows that showed the view from the tenth floor of the hotel.
"H-How did you. . . ?"
You said as you stared at him in amazement, confusion and slight fear at how it was even possible.
