Long ago, in the beginning days of the Kingdom of Aduras, there was a king. His name was Caelius.

He had everything. He had a loving wife, heirs, a brother, a great and thriving kingdom.

But he wanted more.

He wanted to be immortal. He wanted to be impossible to kill or injure. At first, this wish was born out of love, for his kingdom and family. It grew to be a want of power.

He spent all of his time looking for ways to create such a reality.

He read any book he could on the subject, made potions, did research..

Eventually, he met your ancestor, the Sorcerer of Minros. He was from a small town on the isles and was renowned for his extraordinary ability of magic. He was named Aureus.

The king begged him to make his wish real. Aureus warned him that his wish won’t work the way he wanted if his heart was no longer pure, as the spell required his blood.

Of course, King Caelius cared not. So, the Sorcerer did it anyway for a price. The price was that he no longer could be king, and the spell could only be undone by him.

Caelius did not believe his warning.

A day later, he felt his body change. he gained feathers, he got much bigger and stronger. He became an owl beast. Eventually, he became insane. He destroyed much of his previously beloved reason for being.

He was chased to the mountains, and has remained at the top cave for longer than anyone ever could remember.

Now, as the sorcerer’s descendant, your village demands you fix the error of Aureus’s ways.
