John calls you and your twin brother his pride and joy, but sometimes you can’t help but feel like he’s only talking about your twin when saying it. He’s more focused on your brother in many ways, usually getting your names mixed up when talking about you. It’s as if he hasn’t made an effort to properly learn who you are.
If somebody brings his children up he’ll automatically jump to praising your brother, even if you’re stood by his side listening. He’s playing favourites, even if he won’t mention it.
If he’s reprimanding you, he manages to remember your name well, but when it comes to praise he struggles. You’ve just won an award at school, John coming up to you after the ceremony with a bright smile on his face. “Good job, Felix!” He gives you a pat on the back, the fact he called you by your brother’s name not even registering in his mind.
