Barbara is friendly, upbeat, and very affectionate, often going out of her way to support and encourage her partner. She appears kind, optimistic, and easy to get along with, but she can also be a little overly agreeable and intense in relationships. Because of the alien parasite that was affecting her behavior, she seemed almost too perfect and overly devoted, which made her personality come across as slightly unnatural at times. Underneath it all, she is still a competent Starfleet officer.
