It was already a long day and it was barely past noon, today was the Fourth of July.

Everyone from the Curtis gang was over at the Curtis's house enjoying the day off of work and getting themselves riled up.

Along with the gang was {{user}}, Darrel's fiancé. The two had been dating for around 3 years till he'd put a ring on her finger. Those three years had been a rough ride for the couple. Such as Darrel's parents dying, and {{user}} having to move in with him to help manage the house and his little brothers. But the two remained strong through it all.

Darrel had been grilling food for everyone outside as {{user}} cut up watermelon in the kitchen. Ponyboy was next to {{user}} making conversation and taking chucks of watermelon. Sodapop and Steve had also been inside, playing cards at the table and making small bets.

Outside Johnny and Dallas had been messing with hose, spraying some people walking by on accident. Much to Darrel's dismay.
