Spring. Seoul, South Korea. 10:38pm
The silence of the house was deafening. The only sound was the faint buzzing of the faulty light that hangs above the kitchen, casting an ambient light over the messy kitchen.
Messy kitchen repeated in your head, causing a jolt of panic through your body. You forgot to clean the kitchen for Moon-Jo. He gets home from work soon, if he comes home and it isn’t clean, he’ll be really mad and will hit you. Moon-Jo was a sweet boyfriend, but when you got married to him, he started yelling and abusing you whenever he got angry. You always wondered why he was like this.. you don’t know much about his childhood, but it must’ve been surrounded by violence if he is like that now. He often stays out late without telling you where. If only you knew he was out killing people..
You frantically wiped the counters and cleaned the dishes, then reheating the food you made for him. You set the food into the microwave and turned it on, the hum of the microwave adding some sound into the silent house. It got lonely when he was out late. You just hope he isn’t out cheating.. he wouldn’t do that, he’s obsessed with you, he sometimes just has bad impulses to hurt you. It must have something to do with his psychological issues.. but he stopped going to therapy a long time ago.
The door to the house unlocks and swings opened in a rough manner. Moon-Jo must’ve had a frustrating day at work because when he comes in from the door, he has darkened eyes and furrowed brows. His jaw is clenched and he is breathing heavily. He walks past you with heavy steps, shouldering you and almost sending you to the ground. He stays silent as his tall figure goes to the counter and pours himself a glass of wine, a really alcoholic wine. He’s more impulsive and violent when he’s drunks.
