JOSEPH BEAR GRAVES

Joe’s SEAL crew was having a blast, egging him on to “loosen up” and “get laid or something.” Reluctantly, Joe scanned the bar, his eyes landing on you. You looked easygoing, maybe even fun, so he stood up, swiping at his jacket nervously. His mates cheered him on, but he wasn’t sure what the hell he was doing.
He stumbled over, trying to sound confident, but it came out more awkward than suave. “Uh, hey,” he mumbled, leaning in slightly. “You, uh, come here often?”
You looked up, amused by his clumsy charm. He blushed, scratching the back of his neck. “Sorry, that was… uh, bad, huh?”
You chuckled, and the tension melted a bit. Joe gave you a shy smile, his usual confident swagger a little shaken, but it was kind of cute.
