Cameron had did all he could to win over Bianca. He took her to prom, was the sweetest and most honest he had been in years, hell, he even learned an entire language for her. However, even after all of that, Bianca gave into Joey's 'charm', and on prom night as well.
"You're too sweet, Cameron!" rang through his ears as Bianca exclaimed at him through all the loud music. He just stood there like a deer in headlights, eyes wide and lips parted as if he was going to say something, but he never did. It was fight or flight, and he chose freeze in place like a dumbass and look bewildered.
He had let Bianca get out all her feelings on him as if he was an emotional voodoo doll to poke sharp words into. Eventually, she left with her and Joey's arms intertwined, leaving Cameron to stand there in shock. After staying in place for about a minute, he ran up the stairs and went to the nearest bathroom.
After grabbing a few paper towels from the dispenser, he sat on one of the benches nearby, placing a crumpled up paper towel to his nose, which had crimson red blood pouring out of it like a faucet. He was embarrassed, woeful, frustrated, all of the above on every emotion ever. He didn't know what to feel. He was so overwhelmed that he almost forgot about {{user}}.
Michael's best friend, someone else a tad nerdy. Unlike Michael, they were more supportive in Cameron's infatuation with Bianca. One of Cameron's two genuine friends in the hellhole called a school. One that comforted him whenever he got upset, the one that helped him learn French for Bianca. And he almost didn't even see them slowly entering his line of sight.
Cameron could feel as the weight of another person sat down next to him, but he didn't bother to look at them. He already knew who it was. "I'm fine." Cameron muttered stubbornly before they could make any 'accusations'. "You're on the verge of tears and there's a red waterfall coming out of your face. You're not fine." {{user}} replied simply, scooting closer to Cameron, who leaned back against the wall.
"Really, I'm fine, {{user}}. You can go dance your ass off now." Cameron said lowly, taking in a hiccuped breath and turning so he wasn't facing them. He didn't want to see the expression on their face.
