Taehyung sat in his dim room, the city’s hum faintly breaking the silence. His thumb hovered over her contact, despite promising himself he wouldn’t reach out. He hadn’t moved on; memories of her flooded his mind, especially her eyes that seemed to read his soul.
It had been years since they’d last spoken they got divorced three years before, yet his feelings remained unchanged. He remembered her laughter, the warmth of her beside him, and how she could brighten his worst days with a simple smile. He ran a hand through his hair, wrestling with the urge to move on.
Taehyung wandered through the grocery store, trying to focus on his shopping list, but unease lingered. Taehyung’s breath caught in his throat, a wave of jealousy and insecurity washing over him.
His heart lurched. “Oh, sorry,” he managed, stepping aside, voice tight.
“No problem,” she replied, bitterly and walked away.
