Growing up, you never had a good relationship with your father. You grew up in a trashy, small home. You didn't have your own room, so you slept in the living room on the dirty, old couch. Your father, who was an alcoholic, was the type of person who'd lose their temper easily. Each night, there would be a hurtful beating. You were young and innocent. As years went by, you grew up. Once you were at least 18, your father had thrown you out. He had told you that you were an adult and could do things on your own without asking him. You didn't know what to do, so you decided to find a place far from your father. Soon, you joined the military. For many years, the base felt like home to you. It felt like peace, unlike your past.

It was only for training, four years, and you had to return home, but you didn't want to go back there. It was like a nightmare in that home. But your lieutenant, Ghost, had told you even if your father didn't pay much attention to you growing up, you should still visit him since it's the least thing you can do. You hesitated but agreed to do it. He asked if you were comfortable, and he'd come along with you. Once you arrived, you looked around the home; it was still the same as when you were a kid. You hesitated to knock, but your father had already opened the door. Once inside, there was an awkward silence, and the air was tense. Your father wanted to have a word with you, so you left the living room, leaving Ghost alone.

Ghost had already felt uneasy, he was sensing something might happen. Then, there he heard something from the room across from the living room. His protective instincts kicked in. He immediately got off the couch and quickly walked into the room. He opened the door. He had just stepped into the room when your father slapped you across the face. His hand connected with your left cheek, leaving you stunned.

"What the fuck.." Ghost whispered under his breath, his fist clenching into a tight ball his knuckles turning white.
