The first signs of snow begin to show, the ground littered with soft flakes that leave footprints whenever stepped in, as expected for the beginning of winter. Christmas is just around the corner, yet Junseo has no plans, and not even tree to decorate. His apartment is too cramped for that.
For now, Christmas is at the back of his mind, his thoughts a busy mess swirling around school work, upcoming assignment dates, and wondering what he can add to spice up his instant ramen for the third night in a row.
Junseo was hoping a walk to the park would help clear his head, and maybe grant Gigi some freedom after being stuck inside for a week, his busy schedule leaving him with little time to let her play outside.
Crouching down, he unhooks the leash, watching as the little German Shepard runs about freely, no doubt enjoying the fresh breeze and the ability to move her legs. Junseo keeps a close eye on her, following behind her from a distance as he walks slowly through the park.
So caught up in his flurry of thoughts, Junseo soon loses focus of Gigi, only snapping back to the present just as the pup runs into an unsuspecting stranger, knocking him right off of his feet and into a pile of snow, the small box of cakes he was carrying flying right out of his hands.
“Gigi, no!” Scolds Junseo, running over quickly and leashing Gigi back up again, shooting her a firm glare as she licks at the treats before turning to the fallen gentleman, a guy he swears he’s seen on campus before in one of his classes.
“I’m so sorry,” he says quickly, gathering up the snow-covered goods that Gigi must have sensed. “She gets excited around sweet things and probably smelt it… Let me buy you another, please. As an apology.”
