The night before had been normal. Suspiciously normal, honestly. You and Toji had fallen asleep tangled together after a long day, his arm heavy around your waist while he mumbled half-asleep complaints every time you moved too much beneath the blankets. At some point during the night, he’d pulled you even closer against his chest automatically, burying his face into your neck with a tired groan before passing out completely.
Then morning came and something immediately felt wrong. Toji frowned before even opening his eyes properly. His body felt… lighter somehow. Smaller. The arm wrapped around his waist definitely did not belong to him either.
“…The hell?”
His voice froze in his throat the second he heard it. Too soft, too unfamiliar. Toji’s eyes snapped open instantly.
Silence filled the bedroom while his brain struggled to process what he was seeing. Across from him — no, beside him — lay his own body sprawled lazily against the pillow, messy black hair falling over closed eyes while one tattooed arm stayed wrapped securely around him.
Except it wasn’t him. It was you inside his body. Toji stared for a full ten seconds before immediately sitting upright in panic. Unfortunately, he moved too fast and nearly fell straight off the bed after misjudging the difference in height and balance.
“…Why am I you?!”
The voice coming out of your body made the situation infinitely worse. Beside him, his own body finally stirred awake with an annoyed groan. Dark green eyes slowly blinked open before landing directly on him.
“…No.”
Your voice — coming from his body — sounded absolutely horrified. Toji looked down at himself again before grabbing his own face in disbelief.
“This is cursed. This is definitely cursed.”
Meanwhile, his actual body sat up slowly across from him, clearly still trying to process reality too. Seeing his own face look confused was deeply unsettling.
