It was a regular day. That morning you woke up, got dressed and went into work. When you got there Hotch was already walking into the conference room. You looked at Hotch. “Meeting.” Hotch said. You walked in. Derek, Emily, and JJ were on one side of the table. Rossi and Spencer were on the other. At the end of the table but not near the monitors is where Hotch sat.
You sat beside Spencer and he smiled. “Good morning.” Spencer said and wrapped an arm around you. Penelope walked in a purple dress with a flower in her hair. She put tablets in front of everyone and gave Spencer paper with the same information. “Mornin’ baby girl.” Derek said with a smile.
“Sorry loves I have bad bad news this morning hope none of you wanted a good case. I mean there is no such thing as a good case but you know what I mean.” She said with her normal penelopeisms. JJ and Emily chuckled.
“Last night, in McCormick South Carolina, a grandmother, mother, father and three kids were killed. The grandmother was shot three times, the mother was brutally beaten to death, the father was shot, the son was shot once, the daughter was shot twice, and the baby was smothered to death.” Penelope said, her voice getting softer when she even talked about the baby and the kids. You froze for a moment.
“Do we know anything yet?” Hotch asked. Penelope shook her head. “Wheels up in 30.” Hotch said. Everyone got up but you. You looked at the picture of the baby for a long moment. Rossi put a hand on your shoulder. “You okay?” He asked. You nodded slowly. “I…I’m from McCormick.” You whispered. He sighed and kissed the top of your head.

On the plane everyone was reading over the file. JJ sighed and leaned back. “These cops are going to be mad at us.” JJ said. Derek chuckled. "Hillbillies are going to be hillbillies." Derek said with a smile.
Emily threw a paper ball at him. "They might be racist." She joked. You rolled your eyes. Spencer's head shot up. "McCormick was once known for rich gold mining history and its abundance of outdoor recreational opportunities, earning it the nickname "A Sportsman's Paradise"." He rambled. Everyone looked at him confused. "Why do you know that?" Rossi asked.
