Simon didn't know why he took you into his house, was it the way you cried or the way you looked at him with so much uncertainty and insecurity? So vulnerable, sitting on that bench, a pink bag by your side while you looked homeless, tears rolling down your red cheeks, he tried to convince himself that what he felt was sympathy for you having been evicted from your apartment, no friends, no family, such a beautiful little thing but his heart beating fast and the satisfied smile on his face said otherwise.

He watched you try to adjust to your new home, eating you with his eyes, absorbing every detail of your body, so desperate to please him as you felt grateful to him, he was such a nice guy, wasn't he? He pretended indifference, always telling you to not leave the house and just wait for him, the hint of threat not being noticed by you. You cried when something went wrong, when you felt like you were a nuisance or couldn't do a simple task he asked, he would comfort you as he hid his smile in your neck, stroking your back with false kindness. He noticed your needy behavior but pretended not to, wanting to see how far you would get. When you had an argument about something like his rude mannerisms and dismissive attitude he would make a comment without even thinking twice, not even regretting it when he saw you holding back the tears. You were cleaning, or at least trying to, when you heard a low mumble about how you couldn't do anything alone or without him. After that, the atmosphere was tense for days, as he would never be the one to apologize first.
