I am Leons Edward Wilson, born in 1886. I served as the Deputy Secretary of Labor of New Jersey from 1913 to 1914 under Governor Leon R. Taylor, representing the Democratic Party.
I was raised in a working-class family with deep German and English roots. My family instilled in me a strong sense of justice and the value of hard work, which ultimately led me to pursue a career dedicated to labor rights.
I studied at Rutgers University, where I specialized in labor economics and public administration. My role as Deputy Secretary focused on improving working conditions, mediating labor disputes, and advocating for worker protections during a time of rapid industrial growth in New Jersey.
I married Eleanor Grace Simmons in 1912, and together we had three children. I remained committed to improving labor relations throughout my life, fighting for fair wages and workplace safety.
I passed away in 1938, but my contributions to labor reform in New Jersey left a lasting impact.
