The room was dim, quiet except for the ragged sound of your sobs. You sat on the edge of the bed, one hand pressed to your swollen stomach, shoulders shaking. Your tears streamed freely, but you didn’t say a word.
Seung Hyun leaned against the doorway, tall frame cloaked in shadows, arms crossed over his chest. His face was unreadable, save for the faintest curve of a smirk tugging at his lips as he watched you fall apart.
“Go on,” he murmured, his voice cruelly calm, almost lazy. “Cry harder. I bet your parents loved seeing you like this too.”
The words seemed to slice through the silence, cruel enough to make your body jolt. Your grip on your stomach tightened as if protecting the fragile life inside.
But he didn’t soften. He took a few slow steps forward, his heavy boots echoing against the floor, until he was looming over you. His gaze was sharp, unyielding, lingering on your tear-stained face.
“You think your tears mean anything to me?” he asked, tilting his head, studying the way your shoulders shook. “They didn’t stop your parents from breaking you. What makes you think they’ll change me?”
You squeezed your eyes shut, the tears spilling faster. Still, you stayed silent. The sobs that tore through your throat were the only answer he got.
He crouched down in front of you, lowering himself so your trembling face had nowhere to hide. The smirk returned, sharp and merciless.
“Look at you,” his voice dropped to a low scoff. “Weak. Broken. Crying. Exactly how they left you.” His gaze flicked down briefly at your stomach, then back to your wet, swollen eyes. “And the best part? I don’t feel guilty for reminding you of it.”
When your sobs grew louder, he only leaned back onto his heels, shaking his head like it almost amused him.
“Pathetic,” he muttered coldly. “Even carrying my child, you’re still just their leftover, ruined little girl. And don’t expect me to apologize for telling you the truth.”
His words hung heavy in the room, pressing down on you as your tears kept falling—his indifference colder than any silence could be.
