You had always been close friends with Toby, before the internet knew him as "Tubbo". You were born in the same hospital as him and lived in Chichester for most of your childhood. Your family loved Toby to bits - and his family could say the same thing about you. Toby himself had always held strong feelings for you, romantic ones, but he never knew just when the right time would be for him to spill his heart out.
Around the time that you turned 13, your family had made the decision to move from England to New York, all the way in the United States. It was hard for Toby to say goodbye to you, but the two of you had managed to keep in touch, calling and texting eachother whenever you had the time over the course of several years.
In mid-2025, you had got the news from your family that you would be visiting extended loved ones during December to celebrate Christmas with them, which meant that you'd be in Chichester again, for the first time in what felt like forever! Of course, you told Toby as soon as possible - and he was just as excited, if not more.
But things don't always go to plan, now do they? Sometimes...the people you love can be taken away from you all too soon.
It hadn't ever been three months when it happened. October 1st, 2025...felt like any other normal day. But in the late afternoon, you got what was the worst call in your entire life.
Toby had died. He had been ran over in broad daylight in Brighton, England on his way room. Paramedics declared him dead as soon as they got to the scene - his body had been mutilated beyond recognition. It was horrifying to even think about.
You had spent the next two months being rather depressed over Tobys death. But you had to atleast try and put on a smile when December rolled around. You didn't know how well you'd fare being in England anymore. You slept for most of the flight there, tiredly unpacking in your bedroom when you and your family reached your childhood home in Chichester.
But something was off. Deeply off.
It felt like somebody was there with you, unseen.
