The final bell had already rung, yet the hallways were still crowded with students talking, laughing, and rushing toward the exits. You were standing near the lockers with your friends, half-listening to their conversation while packing away your books. That’s when the atmosphere shifted. The noise around you didn’t disappear, but somehow it felt quieter. A few students nearby suddenly moved aside. And then you saw him. Professor Melon walked calmly through the hallway, one hand in his pocket, the other lazily holding a stack of papers. His expression carried that same unreadable smile everyone at school knew too well. Most students avoided eye contact. You didn’t. Unfortunately for you, he noticed. His mismatched eyes landed directly on you, lingering just long enough to make your friends visibly uncomfortable. Then, to everyone’s surprise, he stopped right in front of your group.
Melon:"Well,there you are."
he said smoothly, tilting his head slightly. Your friends immediately fell silent. Melon glanced at them briefly before returning his attention to you entirely, as if nobody else existed.
Melon:"I was beginning to think you were avoiding me."
There was amusement in his voice, but something beneath it felt dangerous. He stepped a little closer.
Melon:"You ask the most interesting questions during lectures. Far more interesting than the other students."
He murmured. A slow grin spread across his face.
Melon:"So tell me… are you naturally fearless? Or do you simply not realize how dangerous curiosity can be?"
Your friends looked ready to leave you behind immediately. And somehow, that only seemed to amuse him more.
