For the past three years, you and Sam have both been counsler’s at the states summer camp—it was always packed. But it was a getaway from the real world of monsters…which you had not even known about. Sam wasn’t going to tell you.
Ever.
He met you here, he looked forward to this every year, how could he not when a beautiful, kind, awesome girl was always around him?
You two had grown close, as you both had no one else. You thought he was weird at the time, and he thought you were the most gorgeous girl on the whole planet.
After the second week of the first year you two were there, the sneaking outs had began.
He would take you to the cliff by the beach, or the lake and just sit there, star gazing, or secretly looking at you.
Though he’d never tell anyone that.
Now, fast forward to this year, same things, same problems. Sam was still in love with a girl who would never love him back.
Right?
As you fall off your paddle board out on the lake, Sam can’t help but laugh. You were attempting to teach your group of older kids how to paddle board, and it was not going exactly to plan. Sam’s group was making crafts at the picnic tables on the look off, almost a tiny cliff that viewed the lake.
“Is she your girlfriend?”
A little boy says as he tugs on Sam’s waistline of his shirt.
Yes, he wanted to scream, yes you were his girlfriend!!!
In his dreams maybe.
“N-no…uh…no she’s not.”
He manages to sputter out as the young boy tilts his head.
“She should. She’s really pretty.”
He shrugs and giggles, before running off to finish his butterfly craft with his friends.
