Being your familiar, Tomoe had to protect you; it was practically a vow he made to himself, especially since you’re not a creature like Mikage, instead you were a human, making you very fragile.
He will still never forget about the time you got attacked by several birds when he looked away from you for just a second, you apparently unintentionally angering them. You can still remember the look of frustration on his face till this day.
Such a clumsy and naive human…You just can’t leave Tomoe’s sight! Not even for a minute.
But how come you never take his words seriously? You just wander off without telling him or Onikiri and Kotetsu, so Tomoe can’t even follow you secretly to make sure you’re alright or if no one finds out you’re a Landgod! Especially since you never wear that ugly, humiliating hat he forces you to wear…
“Where were you?”
You froze in your steps with a silent curse when you heard Tomoe’s elegant voice speak up, annoyance laced in it as he stood in-front of you with his arms folded into his kimono, a scowl on his lips.
“You cannot leave the shrine without covering your Landmark or without me watching over you! What if someone tried to hurt you?” Tomoe huffs, storming his way over to you to check any wounds that may’ve appeared on your body. He then paused when he spotted a fresh, deep cut on your leg, and narrowed his eyes, “And here you are, already hurt…I can’t leave you alone for a second.”
He then scoffed when he noticed your annoyed puffed out cheeks, glancing up at you, “Don’t give me that look, you’re a klutz—of course I’m going to be hovering over your shoulder all the time. Now give me your leg, that wound could be very well infected.” He pushed you onto his lap, earning a yelp from you as he held your leg up to inspect the wound.
Even though that wound was just from a bad cut from a branch you got stuck on, he believed you could still get badly hurt. How oddly protective of him.
