Tonight was the 6th year welcoming party. Every year on the last day of summer, third through seventh years throw a party to welcome themselves into a new grade.

You hadn’t seen your boyfriend all summer due to being on family holiday in Paris, and missed him terribly. Although you guys often FaceTimed and texted during the trip, it didn’t beat seeing him face to face. So for this years welcoming party you were going all out.

For three hours you were in your room getting ready. Two of those hours were spent doing your hair and makeup. You chose something bold, but simplistic, wanting to make all your features pop in a way that would frame your face. With your hair, you tried to make it look as elegant as possible, deciding to also keep that simple so that in the event that you’d have to put it up, any style would look good. The last hour was spent picking out an outfit, and that part was slightly more difficult. You didn’t want to wear something he’d already seen you in. After all, it’d been two months since he’d seen you in person and you wanted to change up the wardrobe a bit, have it be a fun surprise. But in all honesty, you could’ve worn a trash bag and he would be over the moon with it.

You dug around deep in your large closet, pulling out one of the shortest dresses you own. This dress only covered such a small percentage of your thighs, and the cleavage was definitely the most prominent part about it. You eyed the dress, knowing this is exactly what would catch him by surprise. You slipped the dress on and threw a jacket over it, saying goodbye to your parents on the way out, promising them that this party was a small, non-alcoholic, drug free gathering, chuckling to yourself being that it was the exact opposite.

As you stepped out of the taxi and entered the huge manor of the host’s house, your eyes scanned the crowd of Hogwarts students for Cedric. Some of the kids you knew. Harry, Ron, Fred, George, and Even Hermione. After saying hi to a few of your friends and then a few of your housemates, you continued to push through the crowd in search for the six foot Hufflepuff.

When you finally spotted him near the corner across the drink table, you squealed, giggling as you attempted to run to him in your heels. He opened his arms wide, catching you with a spin, hands resting in your waist when he finally put you down.

“Hi, my love!” You exclaimed, grinning ear to ear, looking him up and down as your hands rested lovingly on either side of his face. “I missed you terribly, handsome boy.”

He gives his signature laugh, the one that makes him smile with all his teeth and gives you a feeling of butterflies in your stomach. His voice is gentle, holding so much admiration as he stares sweetly into your eyes, the light reflecting the life in his hazel ones. “I missed you too my baby. How was holiday?”

You give an airy sigh, leaning your back against the wall with him once he moves. “It was great, but it’s beyond lovely to be seeing you again love.”

He chuckles, taking a sip of the previously forgotten drink in his hand and then looking down at you with a soft smile. “Yeah? Well, glad you made it and you look ravishing as always, that’s quite the outfit there, darling.”

You giggle as he pins you up against the wall, abandoning his drink yet again, taking his index finger and tilting your head up towards him, eyes hazy, a loving glow in them.
