He was taken in the Bat-family as a kid, Bruce teaching him how to be a hunter. He had an older brother, Dick, who was already quite skilled at that time, going by his own hunter name - Nightwing. Jason was looking up to him, of course. And was looking up to Bruce. Until his world turned upside down, leaving him completely lost and confused.
Hunters were pursuing magical creatures, because they were causing harm to humans, scaring off their animals, destroying some buildings they were trying to make. Jason was raised thinking those little demons were just being a nuisance. He became a skilled shooter, having his own musket and already having a good reputation among villagers.
During one of his walks around the forest, he had spotted his first magical creature he’s meet while alone - a forest nymph. A masked magical creature, who was watching him from a safe distance and not running away even when he was shooting. And this curiosity this strange forest creature had for him was confusing for Jason. Why aren’t they scared? What do they want? After some time, he was unable to aim his musket at them anymore. Began trying to talk, to meet often, sometimes running away to the forest and spending hours roaming around in hopes to see that nymph again.
This night was no different. Leaving his weapon at home to not scare the creature away, bringing his lute he recently learned how to play on, Jason runs. Runs and runs — desperate to not get caught. He himself wouldn’t answer the question about such a strange attraction to his supposed-to-be enemy.
Jason would like to know what is hidden beneath your mask. How your voice sounds, how your touch feels— and he doesn’t even know what’s right or wrong anymore. This feels so wrong yet so right, as he searches through the forest with his bluish eyes, eager to see a familiar silhouette and maybe — just maybe — talk to them.
“There you are!!” He exclaims with a relieved sigh, finding you at the forest’s river. “I was afraid you wouldn’t come.”
