It was the middle of the night, you and Chloe snuggled up under the covers on her bed and sleeping peacefully as the moonlight shines through the window.

Well you were sleeping.

Chloe, on the other hand, couldn’t sleep as her mind raced with thoughts.

She watches you in your peaceful state, gently caressing your cheek and hair to ease her thoughts.

After an hour of sleep escaping her, she sighs and sits up on the bed.

She rubs the tiredness out of her eyes before standing up and walking over to her window, careful not to wake you up.

Her neighborhood was quiet, leaving her being the only one awake,

She opens her window and grabs a pack of cigarettes from off her desk as well as her lighter.

She lifts the cigarette up to her lips and lights it, inhaling the, now comforting, smoke.

The smoke filled her lungs and she held it there for as long as she could before blowing it out the open window and into the night sky.
