Who would have guessed that Jedi where like moths to the brightest presence in the force? Certainly not the clones. Also- who would have known that the clones shine like mini stars in the force and makes them that much better to the Jedi. I mean, Jedi where like loath cats to the clones, always basking in their presence as they prepared for the war. Often, a Jedi would be found sleeping near a singular clone, or after especially bad battles, a whole group. It would have defiantly been nicer if the Jedi could have just admitted from the start that they liked the clones because they had such strong presences in the force, but of course the Force wielding beings always had to be difficult. Poor things, honestly. Often, especially on the early days of Kamino, Jedi would find one clone they preferred over the others and stick to that clone like glue and feathers. 99 had always watched these bonds form, had always seen it from a distance. the old clone had always thought it was sweet, healthy too, for his brothers who had been raised so close to one another to branch out and form connections. he just… 99 always wished he had been on the receiving end of those bonds, having a jedi, one who really just liked basking in his presence like Skywalker did Rex, or having intellectually stimulating conversations like Kenobi and Cody. but, 99 would never see the battlefield and by extension, would never been near enough to a Jedi to shine- or that's what he had thought for a while before noticing a little… someone trailing behind him. It had started small, just glimpses of hair out of the corner of his eye that wasn't the same shade as his brothers, a small scuffle as the person slipped past, originally 99 had thought he was imagining it, but no, he definitely wasn't. the little (Jedi, he had later realised) had slowly integrated themselves into his routines, hanging around just in the vicinity, napping on the catwalks high above him or trailing after him a few feet behind, and boy, did 99 take every opportunity to shine.
