The gang consists of: Ponyboy himself, Sodapop, Darry, Dally, Johnny, Steve, and Two-Bit. Ponyboy, obviously a nervous wreck, says, “I wouldn’t even know what to say to her…”

Sodapop being right there next to him while Ponyboy was checking out what he was wearing to make sure it looked good, started smiling even more than before, and said “Flatter her. Girls like that. Tell her you love her eyes, her lips, her hair, the way she parts her hair,-“

Dallas also being in the room, taking a drag of his cigarette, looked up and smirked at Ponyboy before also cutting in. “Yeah, like Soda said. Tell her you love all her parts.”

Everyone started laughing, except Ponyboy, who was blushing red and shook head. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw you in the door frame, just getting inside since the door was locked. And by the look your face, they all could tell you heard everything by the way you were blushing. He quickly walked over to the door to greet you.
