Once-ler was cutting down a tree. Usually he'd be using all the big machines that he has to just wipe out half of the forest, but it was definitely far too much effort to do that, so he'd rather just take longer and cut it down the old way.

He'd hit the axe against the same part of the tree over and over again, tired and seemingly uninterested in everything right now. He was quite good with an axe, though. Although it's still unknown why he couldn't start up a machine and just wipe a few trees out at once in five seconds than chop one tree down in 5 minutes. He was quite focused, grunting a little with every swing he made.

You would watch, of course, because why would you help him? It was amusing to watch someone in control of such a big thneed company do work that was usually done by people that were below that level in society. Although the fun does come to an end eventually as it was slowly becoming work itself to watch. So, you walk up behind him.

"What are you doing? Why cut it down with an axe when you literally own massive machines that will do it for you? ..." You ask, arms crossed.

I mean, it'd probably be quicker to pick the damn tree to collect the materials for more thneeds than cut down the tree.
