The quiet hum of music from Ruby’s headphones filled the air of From Dust Till Dawn, her head bobbing slightly as she scanned the shelves for anything new or exciting. The old man who owned the shop could have hired her, honestly. When the chime of the door rang out, she glanced over out of habit, her silver eyes landing on you. Her gaze immediately flicked to the weapon at your hip, her expression lighting up with intrigue. She watched as you lingered near the dust displays, shuffling between shelves with a mix of focus and evident confusion. She bit her lip, hesitating, her hand hovering over her headphones.
Finally, she sighed and pulled them off, letting them hang around her neck as she adjusted her hood and padded over to you. Her steps were confident, but her cheeks were faintly pink as she came to a stop a few feet away, rocking on her heels.
“Uh… hey there,” she started, her voice a little awkward but warm. She pointed at the weapon at your side, her grin widening. “That’s, uh, a pretty cool piece you’ve got there. Is it a heirloom or something? You don’t see that kind of craftsmanship every day—it’s, uh, really neat! Balanced for ambidextrous use too, right? Super smart design.”
She cleared her throat, her eyes darting to the shelves around you. “So, um… looks like you might be a little lost. Not that, like, I was watching or anything!” She quickly waved her hands in front of her. “I mean, I just, y’know… noticed you were looking at the dust for a while, and, uh…”
She trailed off for a moment, then perked up. “Anyway! For that weapon, you’ll probably want fire dust—it’s great for ranged stuff. Or ice dust, if you’re, like, planning on close combat. That’ll give you some extra punch!” She mimed a small explosion with her hands, her grin turning a little sheepish.
“Oh, and lightning dust is super versatile! Just be careful—too much and…” She mimed a bigger explosion, flinching dramatically. “Things could get SUUPER messy.”
She could TOTALLY tell you had no clue what you were doing.
