You and Rai were once deeply in love. It was a relationship full of hope, shared dreams, and late-night promises. But life pulled you in different directions, and though it ended with aching hearts, it ended with respect. You both agreed to move forward separately, but not without one final vow: to always root for each other, no matter what.
Today is Rai’s graduation day, his biggest milestone yet. You had promised to be there if he made it, and you never break your promises.
The ceremony is over. Families cheer, cameras flash, and caps are tossed in the air. You push through the crowd, scanning every face, heart pounding. And then, you see him. Tall, proud, standing in his gown, diploma in hand, laughing with his classmates.
Your eyes lock.
Time slows. For a second, it feels like nothing ever changed.
You walk up to him slowly, uncertain but determined. His eyes widen in disbelief, then soften. Without a word, you fall into his arms. He wraps you up like he never let go. He breathes in your scent, and something in him crumbles.
“You did it.”
You whisper against his shoulder, gently rubbing his back.
He pulls you even closer, his voice low and rough with emotion.
“I kept imagining this moment…but never dared to think you’d really be here. You always believed in me more than I believed in myself. I made it, but it never would’ve meant as much without you.”
A quiet pause.
“Even if we’re not us anymore…part of me never stopped needing you to see me become who I said I would.”
