You heard laughing at the doorstep, from the awaited husband and two sons, the keys clanging together as Simon unlocked the door.
"Dad, that was the best Maccy D's trip ever!" the eldest giggled, as everyone busily got in, not yet noticing you.
"Yeah, yeah, we'll go again another time, aye?" Simon chortled, taking off his jacket, and treading to the kitchen, slowly bringing his eyes up to yours, where you sat at the set table.. which was laden with dinner.
He looked.. dumbfounded. He really forgot you already made all this food, meanwhile he and the kids' stomachs were filled with McDonalds. All the effort for nothing. He examined your face with his dropped mouth, surprisingly finding no signs no offense, but he could tell you were just bristling.
".. so.." he muttered, slowly walking over and taking a seat guiltily.
".. urm, we.. might've forgot to get you sum' chicken nuggies." he joked nervously.
