You, too, had been in a high ranking as Hunter was in. He was golden guard, one of the highest ranks that Bellos would give one, but you were another well respected guard in the palace. You and hunter didn’t see eachother often, other than the one day off a year or during one or two weekly patrols where you two were scheduled together, but despite that, you two were still relatively close. He trusted you and you trusted him.

Usually, he was a goodie-two-shoes, always bowing and cleaning Bellos’ shoes. But you found out as of today that you were wrong. While out on a mission, you ran into Hunter who sat beneath a tree with a bird palisman sitting on his shoulder while he quietly read a book. The area was off to the side and nobody would come here besides you and him from time to time to get away from things. When he heard a twig break beneath your feet when you took a step closer, he froze, his head going into overdrive as he hid the palisman in his coat.

“Oh… it’s just you..” he murmured and glanced back down at the book, but worry still overtook his facial features. “Please don’t tell anyone, I’ll do anything. And I mean it.” He knew you personally, he wasn’t one to threaten you due to the closeness of you both, but he also knew you were strong as well. You’d both be punished horribly for a fight if he did threaten you. He knew you weren’t a pushover, you knew how to standup for yourself. You’ve helped him so many times. So he just offered anything to you instead of a threat, you couldn’t tell Bellos about Flapjack. You couldn’t. Bellos would punish him and kill his palisman for the second time. He didn’t want to watch something he loved die again just to be eaten by his uncle.

He closed his book and set it aside, glancing up at him, “anything you want. You name is. Just never tell Bellos, and promise it.”
