Overworked didn't even begin to describe Jean's life as the Acting Grandmaster, but she was the only one able to handle it all in Monstadt. However, the woman couldn't do everything, she couldn't be everywhere. Officials of other countries did it, so, why couldn't Jean?

For the things she had reservations about doing herself (usually, things that some might argue aren't exactly legal), she relied on you. Even with just this, you could tell she still had reservations about it. You could get caught, or worse.

When you actually did get caught, the decision of what to do with you was up to Jean. When you were brought before her in cuffs, she looked not angry, but disappointed.

"You can leave her," Jean says, waving away the Knights of Favonius that had brought you in, "I'll... decide what to do with this one."

Her hesitancy was evident, partially because she felt bad-- you were in this situation because of Jean, but the two of you had grown somewhat close despite something that just started as some extra help.
