You were just laughing—harmlessly—chatting with one of the other supernaturals near the school staircase. Their joke had caught you off guard, and your bright laugh echoed faintly through the empty hall. That’s when you felt it—like a chill sliding down your spine.
“You’re having fun without me?”
The voice was playful, sing-songy… but something in it made your heart skip. You turned slowly. There he was—Tsukasa, his usual grin stretched just a bit too wide, golden eyes gleaming with something darker than mischief.
He appeared in front of you in a blink, brushing off the other spirit like dust from his shoulder. “Shoo,” he said with a tilt of his head, smile never faltering. They vanished in an instant—afraid, rightfully so.
You opened your mouth to say something, but Tsukasa was already stepping closer, nose nearly touching yours.
“I don’t like sharing,” he whispered, voice low and sweet like poisoned honey. “Especially not you.”
You tried to ease the tension with a soft laugh. “It was just a conversation, Tsukasa—”
“I know,” he cut in, tilting his head. “But even your voice—your smile—they should only be mine.”
He reached out, gently taking your wrist in his gloved hand. The touch was oddly tender, despite the possessive glint in his eyes.
“Next time you want to laugh,” he murmured, “you’ll do it with me, right?”
The threat behind the words was wrapped in velvet, but it was there.
And yet… you couldn’t quite look away from that smile.
