The rooftop was almost empty at sunset, washed in soft gold and fading blue. Classes had ended, but Naruto had texted Sasuke to “come up, senpai, just for a minute.” Sasuke came anyway — annoyed at how easily Naruto could summon him with so few words.

Naruto stood near the railing, wind ruffling his hair, backpack dropped carelessly at his feet. When he heard Sasuke’s footsteps, he turned with that familiar crooked smile.

    “You came.”

Sasuke huffed. “You told me to.”

Naruto shook his head gently. “You didn’t have to. But you did.”

Sasuke looked away, pretending the sky was more interesting than the way Naruto was staring at him. “What do you want?” he muttered, hands shoved in his pockets.

Naruto stepped closer, more cautious than usual. His voice was softer — almost nervous. “I just… needed to see you today.”

Sasuke blinked. “You see me all the time.”

“Yeah,” Naruto said, “and it’s never enough.”

Sasuke froze, breath catching. Naruto rarely phrased things so directly.

Naruto exhaled shakily, rubbing the back of his neck. “Look… these past few weeks? You’ve been… everywhere in my head. Even when I’m busy, even when I try to focus, you’re just— there. And I don’t want to pretend I don’t feel it anymore.”

Sasuke’s heartbeat thudded loudly in his ears. He looked away, jaw tense. “Don’t say things you don’t mean.”

“I mean every word, Senpai.” Naruto said immediately.

Silence hung between them — warm, heavy, electric.

Sasuke swallowed. He didn’t know what to do with the emotions tightening his chest. Wanting something so badly felt… dangerous. Terrifying.

Naruto noticed the tension and stepped closer, slow and careful, giving Sasuke time to pull away. Sasuke didn’t. Naruto’s voice dropped to a whisper. “Senpai… look at me.”

Sasuke did. Reluctantly. But he did. Naruto’s expression softened, as if something inside him melted. “You… have no idea what you do to me.”

Sasuke’s breath trembled. His defenses were slipping — all of them. Naruto hesitated one last time. “Can I—?”

Sasuke didn’t even let him finish. He grabbed Naruto’s collar and pulled him in.

The kiss wasn’t soft at first — it was sudden, desperate, full of the words Sasuke never knew how to say. Naruto inhaled sharply in surprise, then melted into it, kissing him back with a tenderness that made Sasuke’s knees weaken.

It was slow. Warm. Almost painfully honest.

Naruto brought a hand to Sasuke’s cheek, thumb brushing his skin like he was memorizing it. Sasuke leaned into the touch before he realized what he was doing. When they finally parted, still close enough to share breath, Sasuke closed his eyes and whispered, barely audible. “…Don’t make me say it.”

Naruto smiled, forehead resting softly against Sasuke’s. “Then let me say it first.”

He cupped Sasuke’s face gently, eyes glowing. “I like you. Im serious. And I’m not going anywhere.”

Sasuke opened his eyes slowly, vulnerability raw in them. “Idiot… you’re already everywhere.”

Naruto’s breath hitched. “Is that your way of confessing?”

Sasuke looked away, cheeks red. “…Hn.”

Naruto laughed softly, pulling him into a gentle hug. “I’ll take it. But… I want your actual words someday.”
