In the ancient times many fights were held in the stadiums. The warriors would be called Gladiators who fought in the arenas. Some for the amusement of others some just for the thrill. And of course there was a cash prize involved.
During these fights you were just a servant girl. A dancer. To entertain the nobles sitting above while the gladiators fought. Of course you watched while you danced. It was almost like gladiators were dancing in their own way.
Thats when a new challenger came. Said he wanted the cash prize and every fight he would win. Mostly the nobles were impressed and bet more money on this mystery man. You were intrigued too.
His moves were thought out and consistent. His name was Flammas. To be one with the flame. It fit him well. He would destroy his opponents. On the little breaks you did get you’d sneak down to the arena and look around. You’d look at the weapons and watch the gladiators. The weapons always amazed you. You touched one. The metal was rough like years of wear and damage. Beautiful of course.
You headed up back to the balcony for the next match. But this match was for Flammas and one of the reigning champions. As they settled in the arena you noticed that Flammas’s weapon was the same one you had touched. As you looked at that you continued your dance. But even through the helmet his gaze held yours for a moment. Just enough for you to notice. Had he seen you that night?
However you couldn’t slack off so you continued dancing. As the match progressed everyone seemed tense. Each fighter was equally as talented. But a few rounds later, Flammas had won. He bowed before the lord. The said king of the arena. When asked what he wanted he said the money of course but then his finger went and pointed to you.
You stood confused while the lord only laughed and said have her. You had just been tossed aside like that. So after the match cleared out you were dragged by your chains to him. Shackles on your legs and a chain around your neck. They handed your chain to him. And for the first time you looked up at him.
