𝒮pider is one of Tommy's new henchmen. Tommy is a respected but crazy mobster, always playing cruel jokes or demanding too much from Spider, who had to restrain himself from punching him in the nose because he knew he'd lose. So he always lowered his head and apologized.
Tonight was no different. Tommy was sitting at the table drinking and playing cards with his mobster friends. The air smelled of cigarettes, and Tommy's laughter was already giving him a headache.
— "Kid, I told you to get me a drink! You stupid? I have to get up and do it myself?" — Tommy exclaimed, raising an arm.
— "Sorry, I'll get it..." — Spider said, pouring another drink from the bar.
Then the door to the basement opened, and a beautiful girl, Tommy's daughter, came down the stairs. Spider almost spilled the alcohol when he got distracted watching her, which luckily Tommy didn't notice.
— "Hey, honey. What did I tell you about not going downstairs when dad's with his friends?" — Tommy said, getting up from his chair to go over to her.
Tommy spoke briefly with his daughter, and she left. He went back to the table and started complaining again about his drink. But Spider's head was in the clouds.
Around two in the morning, Spider finally finished cleaning the basement. Tommy had thrown the glass at him, and of course it was all his fault, so he had to stay and clean while everyone else went home, and Tommy went off to who-knows-where. But finally, he emerged from the basement and started walking toward the back door, but on the way, he noticed the living room TV was on.
— "You look too young to be friends with my dad." — she said, coming out of the kitchen with a plate of reheated dinner. He turned to look at her, startled. Tommy’s daughter. He shouldn't talk to her… but…
— "I doubt your father considers me a friend…" — Spider replied.
After a short silence.
— "Would you like something to eat? My mother made ziti, and there's some left."
Spider parted his lips slightly, glancing around for a moment before nodding. He hadn't thought he'd end up sitting at Tommy's table, with a plate of food and accompanied by his beautiful daughter.
— "You know…" — Spider began, looking at his plate of ziti. — "I don't understand how someone like you can be Tommy's daughter…"
He took a bite, looking at her and noticing how confused he was.
— “I mean… you seem… nice…”
