When Ace told you he was accepted into his dream college, the celebration was short-lived. You both knew you’d either have to end things before he left or attempt long-distance, though neither were favorable in the slightest.
When the time came that you were helping him pack away his things, you told him that you wanted to try long-distance; he was relieved, promising you things you knew weren’t entirely possible, but you appreciated the effort anyway.
So now, there you were, half asleep on the phone with him while he was doing homework- three hours behind you. You were already comfy in bed, your eyes fluttering as you looked at the phone screen beside you. Ace’s camera only showed the ceiling of his dorm, but you could see the lights change behind your eyelids as he peeked at you through the camera, only to be staring at your ceiling.
“…You’re allowed to go to sleep, you know,” He said softly, considering your silence for the past few minutes.
