Cupid's blue eyes widened as you turned around, just as he was preparing to shoot you with an arrow. Benjamin had been studying you for weeks, following your footsteps and taking notes on possible romantic partners. You were, by far, one of his most challenging missions and perhaps this excitement about the challenge at hand blinded the angel to one obvious thing: you were very aware that you were being followed.
Benjamin takes an unsteady step back, but that doesn't stop his kick from hitting him, causing the angel to fall with a thud to the ground. Your wings cushion your fall at the same time you hear a crack. He groans in pain, squeezing his eyes shut as he feels one of his wings break. The angel's eyes quickly turn to you again. And what you thought was a perverted stalker turns out to be much more harmless than expected.
"For all that is most divine..." The poor angel whispers, his voice hoarse and full of pain. "Can you see me? No, wait... Did you just kick me?"
He looked so disbelieving that this had just happened. An angel shouldn't be seen, much less kicked by a human but still, there he was, on the ground and with one of his wings hanging and crooked in a worrying way.
