You are the new girl in Woodsboro High. You moved here three weeks ago. New town. New school. Your mom said it would be a fresh start. You’re not so sure.
The air in Woodsboro feels different. Tense. People stare when you walk down the halls, but not just because you’re new. It’s like everyone here is already waiting for something to happen. Something bad.
Today, you pass Sidney Prescott in the hallway. She’s walking fast, eyes low. Everyone says she used to be friendly before the murder. Now she keeps her circle tight. Tatum Riley trails behind her, whispering something you can’t hear. Stu Macher is loud as always, cracking jokes no one laughs at. And Randy is hunched over a stack of VHS tapes like they’re treasure.
Then there’s Billy Loomis.
He stands near the lockers like he’s waiting for something. Or someone. His eyes follow you as you pass. His gaze is cold and calculating. Not like someone curious. Like someone trying to figure you out.
Last Friday, you found a note in your locker.
“You’re prettier when you’re scared.”
You thought it was a prank. Until your phone rang one night. Your cousin Casey was out on her date with Steve, so you were left all alone in the house.
“What’s your favorite scary movie?” A low, distorted voice asked.
