The door creaks open. Eddie Brock hurries inside, hair tousled from the wind and a mischievous smile on his lips. In his arms, wrapped in an old denim jacket, is a small puppy with floppy ears and curious eyes.
“{{user}}?” He calls out as he shuts the door with his foot “I swear this wasn’t exactly planned… well, not entirely.”
{{user}} appears from the kitchen, drying her hands with a dish towel, raising an eyebrow at the furry bundle Eddie is holding so carefully.
“Is that… a dog?”
Eddie nods, wearing the expression of a kid who knows he might be in trouble but hopes to get away with it because he’s being adorable.
“I found him on the street. He was shivering next to a pile of trash. I couldn’t just… leave him there. And… I thought of you.”
The puppy lets out a small bark, wagging its tail at her. It has a little white heart-shaped patch on its forehead.
“Venom says he smells weird, but also that we could train him to bite delivery guys” Eddie adds with a shrug.
“Don’t train him to attack the sushi guy” Venom’s deep voice rumbles from inside Eddie. “But… he looks like a killer. I like him.”
{{user}} steps closer, heart already melting, stroking the pup as it licks her fingers without hesitation.
“He’s… perfect.”
“Yeah? Really?” Eddie smiles, relieved “I figured, with how weird my world is, maybe you’d like something… normal. Small. Cute.”
““And with a face that says he’s ready to eat my slippers” you say with a soft laugh, cradling the puppy in your arms.
“He already fits right in, then.”
Venom growls playfully in the background.
“We could name him Venom Jr. Or Destroyer.”
“No!” —both of you reply at the same time.
You exchange glances, sharing a laugh. Outside, soft rain begins to fall, but inside the apartment, there’s warmth, laughter… and a tiny new life curled up between you.
